Welcome to our Real Estate division. Our company operates over 440 stores in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. We have retail stores in the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

About Our Company
Variety Wholesalers, Inc. is a privately held corporation founded in 1930 by the Pope family. It is now one of the largest privately owned retail companies in the U.S. operating its stores under the trade names of Roses, Maxway, Super 10, Bargain Town, Bills, and Super Dollar stores.

Our mission is to provide our customer the very best values and quality merchandise at "Everyday Low Prices". Our focus is on apparel for the entire family complimented by other merchandise categories including candy, snacks, health and beauty products, household sundries, housewares, home furnishings, toys and seasonal products, all at "Everyday Low Prices".

About Our Future Growth
Our growth is focused within our current trade market. We have an aggressive new store program that targets individual locations as well as multi-store acquisitions. The company has three footprints in its growth schedule:

• Large stores group: Our Roses store group with space requirements of 30,000 to 50,000 square feet.
• Mid-Size store group: Our Maxway, Bargain Town, and Super Dollar Store group with space requirements of 15,000 to 25,000 square feet.
• Small store group: Our Super 10 group with space requirements of 8,000 to 12,000 square feet.

Site Criteria

• We look primarily for locations in second and third generation shopping centers. In addition, we will consider free-standing sites, and store front locations in large urban cities. Site criteria include:Grocery anchored shopping center preferred.
• Minimum population of 2,500 within 1 mile of the site.
• Minimum 25% African-American population within 5 miles.
• Median household income of $40,000 or less.
